Languages and Business Cross-Curricular Olympics 2018
On Monday and Tuesday 15th and 16th October during our Curriculum Extension Days, our year 9 students had a 2 day workshop on Languages, Cultural Empathy and Enterprise which were cross-curricular between MFL and Business.
Students learnt to bid for a city for the 2032 Olympics by using problem solving and effective research techniques to plan the infrastructures, the legacy and the ethical and sustainable merchandising for their host city.
Students had to pitch in a foreign language recognising cultural differences and embracing multiculturalism.
Students created mascots, logos, videos and planned their Olympic village with the support of our amazing team of teachers and the staff from CragRats.
Students said "It was really interesting and I enjoyed learning about ethical fashion", "I liked the 2 days, they were both really good because we could create our own products and use our language to sell our city, it was fun.
Thank you to all the staff involved and CragRats, it was a fantastic experience.
See you all next year!
