Following on from Mrs Russell's letter on 9th February, the free course information available to parents, provided by the Hounslow Adult and Community Education service, is outlined below. Parenting courses are aimed to help parents and carers enhance their relationship with their child, as well as a chance to share ideas with other parents and develop support skills.
In Their Shoes - Understanding Children’s Mental Health
Location: Online
Dates: February 21st, 2023 - March 28th, 2023
The aim of this session is to help understand factors that may influence a child’s mental health, and to explore the pressures of society and how to stay connected to a child’s needs and wellbeing. We will discuss how to support a child’s holistic needs and the importance building strong attachments/connections.
Building Security – Supporting Children’s Emotional Development

Dates: February 22nd, 2023 - March 29th, 2023
This session with give an understanding of a child’s emotional world by learning to read their emotional needs. We will know to to support a child’s ability to successfully manage emotions and enhance the development of the child's self-esteem and how to honour your innate wisdom and desire for the child to be secure.
Keeping Your Children Safe Online
Location: Online
Dates: February 27th, 2023 - March 27th, 2023
We will explore and understand the online risks that a child might be exposed to and the the terminology used in the online world related to online safety. We will explore how parental controls can be used with advice on sexting, online games and video apps to keep a child safe.
