Partnerships
Bridging in expertise and knowledge
At Gumley we believe we can gain much by partnering with other schools, businesses, organisations and communities on a local, national and global level.
Engagement with the communities around us is central to Gumley’s ethos. We aim to create meaningful partnerships through the sharing of facilities, events and activities with other schools and community organisations. Working with others enables the development of collaborative projects that deliver social impact and promote best practise in education.
We endeavour to offer opportunities for all students to become involved in service and charitable activities, developing a thread of service throughout the school - drawing of the experience of our global FCJ community. These collaborations are mutually enriching, enabling our staff and students to forge strong links with the local community and make connections beyond Gumley.
Our Partnerships:
- enhance our curriculum offer and provide students with unique experiences through trips, events, motivational speakers, visits and mentoring;
- encourage students to grow in character and resilience by widening the circle of people they engage with;
- allow our teaching staff to network, develop professionally and share best practice; and
- allow us to give back by sharing our school’s facilities, resources, expertise and events.

The FCJ schools around the country form a network of exceptional educational support, each with its own identity and character. yet guided by the same core values and foundational principles.

Primary Partnerships
We work closely with our local primary schools to support with the transition from primary to secondary school and to offer primary pupils a chance to see what Gumley has to offer.
Educational Partnerships
Gumley is proud to be associated with PiXL (Partners in Excellence). Our association with PiXL enables our students to access and share best practice, to both raise standards and give students a better future and brighter hope. PiXL provide very useful resources to help support exam revision. Additionally, your child will have access to dedicated PiXL apps which tracks and promotes your child's learning.
Community Partnerships
Anti-Bullying Alliance
The Anti-Bullying Alliance is a coalition of organisations and individuals that are united against bullying in all its forms. Gumley House is a Core Member of that Alliance, meaning we make a substantial remit in tackling bullying.
Music Mark
Gumley has been nominated and supported by our local Music Service/Hub to become a Music Mark School. They have recognised the value that we place on music,
"We would like to thank you for all the hard work you and your colleagues do to ensure that pupils at your school are able to access and engage with a high-quality music education. Your dedication to offering and delivering a broad and balanced curriculum is both welcomed and celebrated. I am therefore delighted to enclose your Music Mark School certificate which I hope you will feel able to share with your whole school community." (Bridget Whyte. Chief Executive)
