Title
Gumley House School FCJ is entirely committed to improving the local environment by encouraging staff and students to use sustainable modes of transport whenever possible to limit the amount of traffic in the local area.
The School has limited parking onsite; 40 spaces, 2 of which are allocated for visitors. We are not able to expand our parking facilities due to planning restrictions and access to our sports facilities. We recognise that this can lead to members of the school community parking in local side streets and we wish to alleviate the impact of this in any way we can. Please follow the advice given below to help us in this aim.
Advice to Visiting Parents and Carers: We do not allow parents and carers to park or drop off their children in the school car park as it would lead to over congestion and health and safety risks. We also ask parents/carers not to drop off their children on St. John's Road / Gumley Gardens as this too would be a risk to their safety. Please use the Car Parks at Isleworth Train Station on London Road and the Car Park at West Middlesex University Hospital which are the safest areas for students to exit vehicles. Please enter these car parks fully before stopping, parking and/or turning around to avoid congesting the entrance/exit roads. If you have no other option than to use a side road please completely avoid St John's Road and Worton Road which become extremely congested if anyone other than residents use them. This gives due regard also to the local primary schools situated just outside Gumley House School. There are lots of children on the roads in the morning, so please park with the utmost consideration. Please also allow us to maintain our strong relationships with our neighbours by avoiding blocking driveways or roads.
Advice to Staff/Students: We recommend that all members of the school community travel to school using the most sustainable modes of transport possible. There are sufficient parking spaces allocated to staff in the school (first come, first served) and bike racks are located around the site. We ask that any member of the school community who parks in the local area does so with respect to the needs of local residents, avoiding blocking drive ways or roads. We ask that all staff and students provide the School with their vehicle registration and details in case a problem does emerge.
Advice to Local Residents: As you can see above, we try to make every effort to avoid problems created by parking and congestion in the local area. Should an issue arise that you suspect may be as a result of actions by a member of the school community, please feel free to contact the School to see if we have their vehicle registered with us in which case we will contact the owner. Alternatively, please ring the Council’s enforcement contractor, Serco Enforcement Team on 020 8290 8301 (Option 7) or 07718 135 627 (make sure your number is displayed – will be called back if driving).
