Parents' Evenings

Parents' Evenings are a good opportunity for you to discuss with your child's teacher about their progress and how we can continue to work together in ensuring she/he gets every opportunity to succeed.  School Cloud is the online platform we use for Parent’s Evenings.  This platform can be accessed from all iPhone and Android phones, iPads and tablets, as well as laptops and desktop devices.  Appointments are made two weeks prior to the scheduled parent evening.

We recognise that not everyone may be able to access the online system to make appointments; please contact the school office who will be able to make appointments for you. Difficulty logging in?
The main issue with logging in is that the person accessing the parent account needs to be the Priority One Contact.  This was decided on your child's application form to the school.  There is more help below:

Why an online system?
When we moved to an online system of meeting parents, the number of parents we were able to see rose from 67% to 94%.  Although staff will do their best to see as many parents/carers as they can, you can appreciate some staff may not be able to see everyone who requests an appointment. The new system does have a waiting list, so if a slot becomes available you may be added closer to the evening to see that teacher.

Consultation with your child's teacher are given in slots of 5 minutes to enable staff to speak to as many parents as possible.  We require parents and staff to limit discussions to the allocated time to ensure that other parents’ appointments are not compromised. Using the new video call system, the 5-minute slot will be automatically in place so calls will end at this point. Timers can be seen on your screen, so you are able to communicate your messages to staff during the allocated time.

If you have a concern that requires a more lengthy conversation, we request that you contact the school at a separate time.

Prior to each evening, the online system will be opened to parents for booking of appointments during a time window of one week. This time window will be specified on an invitation letter that will be sent to the parents/carers via ParentMail.

For the parents evening process to function smoothly, it is imperative that the school has been provided with an accurate, current email address for the primary parent/carer contact of each student.

These meetings are a great opportunity for the school and the home to work together to ensure your daughter/son has the best possible chances in their education.  Please be advised that Gumley House practices a zero tolerance approach to any aggressive, offensive, intimidatory or disrespectful approaches or behaviour towards members of staff.
