Jasmine; young debater, future White House counsel

 Once a shy Year 6, now a confident, articulate and mature Year 7. Through the Gumley transition programme, Jasmine learnt of all of the extra-curricular opportunities on offer, including DebateMate. Not only has Jasmine developed her leadership, communication, independence and public speaking skills, but she has discovered a passion for debate and justice, and so uncovered her future career ambitions: a lawyer.

Since joining the DebateMate team, Jasmine has been inspired to think creatively, develop reasoning and utilise critical analysis, skills that will be integral to her future as a lawyer. With great ambitions to one day work in the White House, Jasmine knows that her extra-curricular activities, including undertaking the Mandarin language will stand her in good stead. She looks forward to the next 7 years at Gumley, working in partnership with her knowledgeable teachers and team mates, to achieve her dreams.
