Imperial College ENACTUS, Technopreneurship Programme Launches
From Parachutes to Product Launch - Year 8 Students
As always, Imperial College’s undergraduate team, implemented a challenging and exciting start to this programme, aimed at developing students’ Science, Tech & Enterprise skills.
Following a quick ‘Human Knott’ icebreaker exercise, students learnt about Air Resistance, Gravity and Marketing, in just 2 hours!
The Parachute Challenge: Working in teams of 4, students were tasked with the practical application of creating their own parachute, investigating the relationship between air resistance and gravity.
Testing the physics: Each parachute was then assessed by Imperial’s team, to establish how successfully the teams achieved the required balance.
The Business of Parachutes: Students studied the first stages of a business, evaluating its definition, learning about the 4 Ps of marketing, mission statements and then pitching their new business launch.
On the agenda for the next few weeks:
- Types of Energy Sources: Students will learn about renewable and non-renewable energy, such as evaluating how the flow of electrons generates electricity.
- Cipher and Codes: Students will apply mathematics and computer science in deciphering encrypted messages.
- The Business Launch & Making A Product: This will be announced shortly!
