Discovering Regional China

The Year 10 GCSE Food Preparation and Nutrition group this week were treated to an invigorating, educational and skill development session held given by Nicole and Phoenix, our Healthy Chinese Cooking Ambassadors, held at Gumley.

They delved into the regional cooking in China and made a wonderful dish of Kung Pao chicken. They leant how to use a selection of Chinese cooking sauces that included Hoisin and oyster sauces alongside a chilli garlic sauce to give the dish a fiery tang. They skilfully boned a chicken thigh and also created garnishes using the delicate spring onion.

A delicious, fragrant and appetising dish went down well and was enjoyed by the students and their families.
