Day 5 and 6 of the MEP China Trip

Day 5: Visiting the Shiji Jinyuan School

We visited a Chinese secondary school where we were each greeted by our buddies who welcomed us with a special traditional performance with drums and a dance performed by the younger years.

Day 5: Cultural Heritage Chinese Painting

With our buddies, we learnt the unique Chinese painting style where we created beautiful fans and bookmarks.

Day 5: Shopping in the Old Town Markets

We got to explore the market stalls where we saw traditional Chinese crafts and ancient, historical buildings.

Day 5: Yunnan Dynamic show

Ending day 5, we enjoyed a famous show which told us about Yunnan’s special, ancient rituals, prayers and pilgrimages.

Day 6: Stone Forest

On day 6, we were all keen to wake up at 3am to watch the European Championship.

Even though we woke up early, we were still enthusiastic to visit a World Heritage site called the ‘Stone Forest’ where we saw remarkable natural formations of stones - where some had special stories and meanings - and the magnificent landscape.

Day 6: Daily Life

In our free time, we all sat outside our rooms and enjoyed chatting and making friends with the other schools.

Overall, the past few days were full of amazing sites and activities where we got to learn more about the history and culture China.
