Lenten Project
Supporting those supporting others
Our Lenten Project each year is our main fundraising drive which supports others in need. This year, we are very proud to see a large cohort of our Sixth Form Team support the diocese in taking the sick and elderly to Lourdes in France for a life-changing experience.
Service is an important part of being a Christian, and going on pilgrimage with the Diocese to Lourdes is a great way of serving those in need, as well as an opportunity to grow in faith.
Our Lenten Project 22 will raise essential funds which will directly support pilgrims and make this trip possible.
Our own students will be members of the 'hospitalite' and will be assigned an ‘assisted pilgrim’ (a fellow pilgrim who is elderly, sick or disabled) and help them with their every need throughout the week in Lourdes.
They may also help in the hospitals and hotels and support doctors and nurses. Being a Redcap can also involve helping with the main events, such as the candlelight procession or reconciliation service.
