Lateral Testing in School
We are delighted to be able to offer Lateral Testing for all students and staff at school. Staff overseeing the Lateral Testing have all been fully trained and we are expecting an excellent uptake from students and staff to be tested.
Lateral Testing for COVID-19 will begin from the 4th January.
What is Lateral Testing and what is involved?
Students and staff will be invited to get tested once they have produced a consent form (copied below). Students who consent to being tested will receive two initial tests. The first will be arranged as they come to school with the second three days later (not including weekends).
We will arrange for students to come to the Dance Studio where they will be registered and given a swab which they will need to apply to their nose and throat themselves.
Once they have self-swabbed, they will place the swab into a small tube and then return to class.
While they are back in lessons, the swab will be analysed (approximately 30 minutes) and any positive result will be followed up immediately.
Students will then be offered further testing, daily over a period of 7 days, if they have been identified as being in close proximity with COVID-19.
We are only able to administer Lateral Flow Testing once we have received consent. Please ensure the sheet below is returned with your child on first testing:
