Hear from Our Year 7s

With so much information coming at you - sometimes it's nice to hear from those who have recently been through the move from primary to secondary.  It is very important to us that our future Gumley Girls feel part of our community from the very first day.  We regularly hear from pupils how the initial feelings of 'getting lost in a huge space' is forgotten - especially after the first day treasure hunt is over!  Gumley has a very welcoming family atmosphere and we all aim to look after each other.  This is why you'll hear regularly 'Once a Gumley Girl, always a Gumley Girl'.

Isimeme, former St James’ Primary School pupil

"I’m so lucky that I got into Gumley. Compared to primary, it is such a big school but after a couple of days you really get to know the place. Plus, the teachers are so welcoming. I have enjoyed my first term and I can’t wait to see what awaits".

Channelle, former St Mark’s Primary School pupil

"Gumley hosted a Friendship Afternoon and Induction Day to help us experience life at Gumley and get to know other students before joining in September. My first term has been very enjoyable; I have learnt lots of new things including Chinese!"

Chiara, former St Joseph's RC Primary School pupil

"I have enjoyed my first term so much! I have been introduced to many new subjects, my favourites being languages, sport and music. I am looking forward to growing my knowledge and becoming confident in all that I do".

Lydia, former St James’ Primary School pupil

"The move from primary school was easy because of Gumley’s Friendship Afternoon and Induction Day where I met some of my closest friends. There’s so much to do outside of your lessons. I take part in the Drama club and the Mandarin in Excellence Programme; and am looking forward to the Drama and Music festivals".

Lara, former St Lawrence's Catholic Primary School pupil

"The Gumley girls and staff were so welcoming and friendly, I feel I have settled in well. In my first term I loved celebrating Black History month, participating in a drama showcase. I would like to become a lawyer in the future, and I believe Gumley can help me in pursuing this desire".

Meg, former St Mary’s Catholic Primary School (Isleworth) pupil

"The buddy system, Head of Year 7 and my form tutor all supported me with my move to Gumley. I have settled in nicely. My favourite part of last term was making the Christmas boxes for charity because I was able to work with my friends and be creative".

Yohana, former St Lawrence's RC Primary School pupil

"One of the best things about Gumley is the range of opportunities they provide after school where you can find at least one club within your interest. I am looking forward to learning new subjects such as Computer Science, Textiles and Food Technology. I can’t wait to take on and enjoy anything that Gumley throws at me!"

Chloe, former St Mary’s Catholic Primary School (Chiswick) pupil

"Gumley supported me to settle in by organising a Friendship Afternoon and Induction Day. Since starting, I have enjoyed meeting new friends and incredible teachers".
