We are very proud of the achievements of our students, year after year. Our academic results reflect the hard work and commitment of students and their teachers. We warmly congratulate all our students on their fantastic achievements in GCSE, BTEC and A Level this year. Our academic results reflect the hard work and commitment of students and teachers.
Gumley’s approach is to focus on individual progress over a student’s school career and to prepare each child for their chosen destination and beyond. Our community is very successful at stretching and supporting our students. Our academic record can be best exemplified by the progress made by each pupil over time. A high number of pupils go on to study at Russell Group universities - or bespoke destinations of choice.

Gumley House has a Progress measure which is well above national average. The number of students achieving Grade 5 or above in English and Maths far exceeds both the local authority and the national average. The same is true also for our Attainment 8 score and out EBacc average point score. At A Level, Gumley continues to gain the highest percentage of A* grades in the borough.
KEY STAGE 4 RESULTS:
Gumley House School FCJ has once again proved their commitment to delivering excellence, following impressive subject results and stand out individual performances in this year’s GCSE results.
This follows a successful set of results from the Gumley Sixth Form, which saw many students progressing on to respected universities across the country, including UCL, Manchester, Liverpool and Leicester Universities, impressive apprenticeships and coveted careers.
Students have excelled across a number of subjects and the percentage of students achieving top grades remains impressive, alongside many individual stories of dedication and achievement. Subject highlights include Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Languages, Music and Further Maths all receiving 100% grade 4 or above alongside our spectacular individual performances.
The school is delighted with the number of students staying on at the Gumley House Sixth Form, with many commenting that they have been inspired by the successes of the sixth form students and the exciting course breadth.
Carolette Fullerton, Head of Year 11 commented: “What does it mean to be a Gumley Girl? This cohort can show you. Determined, hard-working, ambitious, strong-willed, compassionate – to name a few. The class of 2024 are inspiring, and I am so proud that their hard work has been rewarded, and that nothing stood in the way of them achieving their goals. Congratulations to all, you should be delighted with what you have achieved and all of the opportunities you have created for yourselves. I am incredibly excited to follow this group of students as they transition to sixth form in my new role as Head of Sixth Form”.
Headteacher Stephen Byrne added: “Congratulations to all of our GCSE students. You deserve every success you have achieved, and all of us at Gumley are incredibly proud of your determination, work ethic and passion in achieving your ambitions and shattering ceilings. It is our aim to provide the highest standard of education, alongside a wide range of life and interpersonal skills which will set students up for success, and help to shape them into powerful, confident and ambitious women, ready to take their place in the world. I am confident that this cohort have achieved exactly that and hope to welcome many of them back to our sixth form in September. Once again, congratulations. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all our staff and parents for their ongoing invaluable support and contribution to our students’ achievements, we truly are a strong community, and I am so proud to be leading Gumley on this incredible journey”.

- The mutual respect between students and staff was valued by Angelica during her GCSE studies. She is most proud of her grade 8 in English Literature as she put in a lot of hard work and passion into achieving that result. Angelica’s dream is to become a film producer, we look forward to watching her accept her Oscar in years to come.

- “Revise, revise, revise”, that’s the advice given by former St Edmund’s Catholic Primary School pupil Veronique. She is looking forward to starting Sixth Form to study Psychology, Sociology and English Literature.

- With hopes of becoming a research biologist, Amarise has certainly laid the foundations with an incredible set of GCSE results. She entered exam season prepared and that preparation has certainly paid off.

- Former Rosary Catholic Primary School pupil Roseann said, “You will receive support, love and a second family at Gumley House.” Excellent results today mean Roseann will be studying Biology, Chemistry and Maths at our Sixth Form in September.

- The resources, additional lessons and support proved invaluable to Leanna as she collected an amazing set of results at GCSE. From St Lawrence Catholic Primary School to Gumley House and now on to Kingston College, Leanna has hopes of a career in Architecture.

- Lydia, a former St Jame’s Catholic Primary School pupil is thrilled with her results today, especially her grade 9 in Latin. She wanted to give special mention to the Chinese and RE teachers at Gumley House, who she she’s are incredible and helped her immensely in achieving 9’s in both subjects.

- Isimeme is off to London Oratory to study Maths, Computer Science & Business following a smashing set of GCSE results. Isimeme found the booster sessions before and after school really helpful in helping her achieve her goals.

Key Stage 5 Results (SUMMER 2025)
Once again, Gumley House Sixth Form is proud to announce outstanding student achievements in the 2025 A Level and Vocational examinations.
Our Sixth Form students and staff have much to celebrate, with lots of individual and subject successes including Maths and Further Maths with 95% of students achieving A* - C grades and 83% of students studying a language receiving grades of A* - B.
"The successes achieved this summer allow students to progress on to their next chapter with confidence", Headteacher Stephen Byrne proudly remarks, with a number of students securing career opportunities and places at respected universities across the country, including UCL, Manchester, Liverpool and Leicester Universities.
Head of the Gumley Sixth Form, Carolette Fullerton, commented: “I am incredibly proud today. Students results mark another year of excellent academic and personal excellence of our students and staff. Our students have worked tirelessly to achieve their ambitious and I am sure that this is just the beginning of many more successes to come, with students already carving out ambitious careers and pathways. Congratulations to all”.
NOTABLE:
We are so proud of all our students and their many successes and achievements. Some of these include:
Anna K: Anna achieved a phenomenal A*, A*, A* and will now be studying History at the University of Warwick.
Edie CW: We are incredibly proud of Edie, whose determination and commitment have been rewarded with outstanding A Level results of A*, A*, A, paving the way for an exciting future.
Wajma A: Wajma achieved A*, A, A and is set to study Anthropology and Law at the London School of Economics.
Zuzanna B: Zuzanna, having achieved A*, A, B in her A Levels, has secured a place at SOAS University of London to continue her studies in Chinese – an exceptional accomplishment, especially competing alongside native speakers nationwide.
Maia LK: Maia is heading to the University of Leeds to study Philosophy, Politics and Economics after achieving an impressive A*, A, B.
Joana F: After achieving A*, A, A, B in her A Levels, Joana will be joining the University of Portsmouth to study Marine Biology.
Ife A: Ife has secured her place at King’s College London to read Biomedical Engineering, following her superb achievement of three A grades.
Lyena D: Congratulations to Lyena on her outstanding A Level results of A*, A, A – a testament to her dedication, resilience, and passion for learning.
Headteacher Stephen Byrne added:
“At Gumley, we are a close community with a powerful network of staff, students and families, working together to ensure the best outcomes for all our young people. This is evident in our overjoyed students now accepting places at their first-choice universities and embarking on exciting apprenticeships and successful careers. The results attained today are a tribute to our students’ ambition, dedication and the unrivalled support from our teachers and support staff who inspire students every day to achieve their potential, and more. Well done to the Class of 2025 – I wish you every success and hope to welcome you back as part of our alumni”.
Whilst being recognised by Ofsted for strong academic outcomes, the above successes follow huge growth and investment into the Sixth Form at Gumley House FCJ, with increases in student numbers, which have doubled over the last three years, a £300,000 refurbished Sixth Form Centre which includes a brand new independent study area and common room with dedicated kitchen and 'chill out' space - and extensive leadership opportunities working with NASA, SKY, Imperial College, Institute of Education and various universities across the country to name but a few.
